Everything on the site is general information. Roofs differ, and only a roofer who sees yours in person can say what it needs. Cost figures are statewide published averages with their source and year shown, and the calculator and the repair-or-replace quiz give rough guidance only. Neither stands in for a written estimate.

Summaries of South Carolina law, City of Charleston rules and town permit offices are written in plain language for convenience. They are not legal advice and may be out of date by the time you read them. Check with the office named, or with a lawyer, before relying on them.

Storm history comes from National Weather Service Charleston and federal records and is shown as background only. Nothing on the site means that any government office, historic board or agency recommends this site or any roofer.

We do not vouch for any roofer. The roofer who receives your request is an independent business, and we do not control its work, prices, insurance coverage or warranties. Please check its state registration, coverage and references yourself before you sign.

Questions about an insurance claim belong with your insurer, or with a public adjuster you hire who holds a South Carolina license. This site does not discuss, negotiate or handle claims.
